A Black former Lumber Liquidators Inc. assistant store manager failed to show race discrimination caused her to be fired from her job at a Baton Rouge, La., store, a federal court ruled.
Daphne Weary was hired in January 2017 and terminated June 12, 2018, allegedly for poor performance. A White store manager was brought in about five months after she was hired, and he soon hired a White assistant store manager—Garrett Sherman—even though the store only required one assistant, Weary said.
