Texas Adds ‘Incognito Mode’ to State’s Suit Against Google (1)

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is adding Google’s private browsing feature “Incognito mode” to a list of “deceptive practices” in a lawsuit accusing the company of misleading consumers.

Texans are being duped if they think the feature gives them privacy to look up sensitive topics like “medical history, political persuasion or sexual orientation,” according to the latest version of the suit, which was filed Thursday.

In reality, “Google deceptively collects an array of personal data even when a user has engaged in Incognito mode,” Paxton wrote.
