Dutch Tell Corporate Tax Avoiders They Are Not Welcome Here

Corporations seeking to avoid tax should keep out of the Netherlands, according to a warning issued by the Dutch government as it plans new measures to mend the country’s reputation.

“There are still too many letterbox companies,” State Secretary for Tax Affairs Marnix van Rij said in an official letter submitted to Parliament in the Hague on on Tuesday. The government “wants to continue working with other countries in order to further combat abusive arrangements involving conduit companies.”
